Eternal life begins with saving my clan

Chapter 412 Lang Bai: The Sword Demon.

The following day, news of Lang Bai spread throughout the Soaring Cloud Region. Many people called him an Immortal, while others referred to him as the Sword Demon.

As news of Lang Bai continued to spread, the Necoris slowed down their massacres.

They tried to kill their targets swiftly, but as long as someone announced it on You Connect, Lang Bai would appear like an angel of death, slaughtering every Necoris in his path.

When the inhabitants of the Soaring Cloud region realized that as long as they announced the news of the Necoris attack on the Spirit Comms, the Sword Demon would appear at the next minute.

This gave the villages and town regain some confidence and they could breathe a sigh of relief. The Necoris were not as terrifying again in their heart.

Against Lang Bai's intimidating strength, Tier-0 and Tier-1 Necoris warriors were like ants in his presence.

Their deaths were so gruesome that even the Necoris in hiding shivered at the thought of facing him.

"What should we do?" a stout Necoris asked, his voice laced with anger and fear.

This was the main team leading the annihilation campaign sent by the Necoris King. Their hideout was an abandoned mine near Ironmist City.

At the question, all the Necoris exchanged uneasy glances before focusing on their commander.

Lang Bai's strength was so terrifying that even the powerful Tier-1 Necoris were paralyzed with fear. All their hopes now rested on their commander, a Tier-2 Warrior.

Misco scanned his men, his scaled brow creasing, and his body tensing.

What was supposed to be an easy mission before the arrival of the main army had turned into a nightmare.

Who would have expected the human race to harbor such a powerful expert?

Clearing his throat, Misco began to speak slowly.

"I've sent a message to the empire, requesting reinforcements."

However, his men did not seem satisfied.

What they needed was not just reinforcements but a warrior strong enough to confront Lang Bai.

The Sword Demon was not just a name—it symbolized terror. Against such an expert, numbers meant nothing; only an equally powerful warrior could stand a chance.

The atmosphere in the underground mine grew tense, thick with fear and frustration. The warriors were furious and anxious, knowing that if the Sword Demon found them, death was inevitable.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

"Everyone, calm down," an older Necoris named Cunots said, cutting through the rising tension. "The commander has already sent a message to the empire. We should trust in their judgment. I'm sure they will respond appropriately."

"Cunots, are you suggesting we wait here for death? Who knows when we'll hear from the empire?" Alkens, the stout Necoris, demanded in an icy voice.

"Since the humans have sent such a powerful warrior, we must respond in kind. Perhaps a Tier-3 or Tier-4 warrior would suffice."

"Hmph!"

The other Necoris rolled their eyes at Alkens, regarding him as though he were a fool.

How could the empire casually dispatch Tier-3 or Tier-4 warriors?

"What? Why are you looking at me like that? Am I wrong?" Alkens snapped. "Anything less than a Tier-3 or Tier-4 warrior would be a waste of time."

Even Misco, usually stoic, turned to Alkens with interest. "Why do you say so?"

"Have you all forgotten General Xorox?" Alkens replied sharply. "He was a Tier-3 Warrior, and yet he died miserably in this backward place.

"And from what I've learned, the people who killed him weren't as powerful as this Sword Demon hunting us now."

He paused, letting his words sink in.

"General Xorox was killed by unknown men. What chance do you think a mere Tier-3 warrior would have against the Sword Demon?"

The room fell silent as Alkens' reasoning hit home.

These warriors had underestimated their grim situation, still clinging to faint hope. But Alkens' words shattered their illusions.

The reality was clear: without an immediate solution, death was inevitable.

"We should return to the empire," Cunots said in a low voice, shocking everyone.

"Are you serious?!" one Necoris exclaimed, his eyes wide.

"Why are you so shocked? Do you want to die a meaningless death?" Cunots retorted.

The room grew still again, each Necoris lost in thought. None of them feared death, but they wanted their deaths to have a purpose.

"Indeed, we should return to the empire immediately, but…" Alkens' voice trailed off as he studied his comrades' faces.

The group, respecting Alkens' wisdom, waited for him to finish his thought.

"Returning empty-handed is a death sentence," Alkens finally said, his tone calculated. "But if we return with the humans' divine artifact, everything will change."

The mention of the artifact reignited hope in the room.

They began discussing Alkens' plan, and the more they talked, the more feasible it seemed.

"Let's do as Alkens suggested," Misco declared. "We can't defeat the Sword Demon, but we can return with their divine artifact. With it, I believe our next mission will be much easier."

Of everyone present, Misco feared dying in this foreign land the most.

When he first heard about the Sword Demon, he had sent several powerful warriors to confront him, but their deaths were beyond miserable.

Since then, he had hidden, sending others to complete his missions while he stayed safely out of harm's way.

Now that he had found a way to escape from the terrifying Sword Demon, he wouldn't hesitate to seize it.

If the human race knew that a powerful Tier-2 Necoris was terrified of a single human expert, they would be ecstatic. To humans, the Necoris were an insurmountable threat.

Yet now, a single human expert had them trembling.

Unfortunately, no human was there to witness the scene.

"Quick, let's go! We'll steal the divine artifact and escape," Misco urged as he grabbed his weapon.

As the Necoris prepared to leave the mine, the faint sound of footsteps echoed from the entrance.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

The rhythm of the steps sent a chill down their spines. The air grew heavy with tension, and their hearts pounded as the sound drew closer.
