Greatest Streamer System

Chapter 275: Chapter 275 – Returning to Daily Streamer Life

Thursday, May 22th 2045.

Two days after the main Scrim was over, the players all returned to their homes. Atlas and Ferin also returned to their homes because many jobs were waiting for them after resting for 3 days.

Lily also had to return to Lime City with StoneSword because of some urgent matter. The latter secretly reminded Max about the party in June and left a warning.

"If you are really serious, then I hope you prepare yourself. Many eyes are on you now. Because you're affiliated with Biozone Entertainment, I doubt agencies will bother you. But… Prepare to get involved in some dramas. They will come soon if you're not cautious."

Max was thankful for the reminder and a warning. He assured StoneSword that the matter about his seriousness had been dealt with. Once again, he told him that he was just waiting for the right time, and that was when Lily released her new music. Both of them already promised.

Left behind in New Eden City, Max was currently facing Michael, his new assistant in Biozone Entertainment. The man suddenly asked to meet because there was something to discuss. They met in the café in Biozone Hotel's Lobby, where Max stayed.

As soon as they were seated, the black-haired assistant immediately cut into the case.

"There are sponsorship offers. In total, 3 companies are interested in you, but I believe we can only take one because the terms and product they make are similar."

Max was dumbfounded. He thought Michael wanted to talk and converse with him to deepen their relationship and continue their conversation from the past about ad preference.

However, what Michael talked about was beyond something Max could ever imagine.

'A sponsor? Me? I just started streaming on April 5th, and it's not even 2 months yet! And I get a sponsorship offer?!'

Usually, a newbie streamer wouldn't get a sponsorship offer. In this world, the terms sponsorship and ad offers were truly different. The former was a long-term contract, which two sides, the company and the streamer, agreed on.

For example, the streamer had to use the company product each time he was live streaming. They usually also asked them to display it on the livestream or Punchtube video for a few seconds. And if the product was sold using the unique link given to the streamer, then he would get a part of the revenue.

Of course, there was also a signing bonus and support from said company. An example would be Flexy's program. He managed to get sponsors from Scrim and not for himself. It was probably a short-term contract, but the benefit was massive.

For a long-term profit, a sponsorship was truly beneficial for a streamer. The problem here was…

"How long is the contract? What are those companies' products? And… what kind of endorsement should I do for them?"

The terms. Depending on it, Max probably would refuse.

'Sponsors who approach me this early will usually undervalue me. I don't need to be too rash, as I can probably only sign with one or two sponsors as a newbie streamer. And I can't endorse a brand with the same market, so I must choose carefully.'

"Let's start with their product," Michael said, putting on a serious expression. "All three companies dealt with a gaming product. After watching the Scrim yesterday, they reached out to us, offering similar sponsorship to you and Flexy. As you know, he is also affiliated to Biozone Entertainment."

Max nodded. Flexy indeed signed with Biozone, too. And the fact that he also got an offer only meant one thing.

'So it's not because of me but because I was affiliated with Biozone Entertainment?' He laughed dryly in his mind. 'Maybe they want to get Flexy. But only one company can get him. That's why they extended an invitation to me, his teammates, and someone who is also affiliated with Biozone Entertainment.'

That somehow didn't sit well with Max. But business was business. If he got money, then he wouldn't mind signing with them. Of course, if the contract was also satisfactory.

But again, what kind of gaming product was it?

"Gaming product… Like a VR product? An accessory or something?"

"Yes, they created them, among many other things," Michael confirmed with a nod.

"Now, let's talk about the term. It's a year-long contract, an annual one. This kind of sponsorship contract is common because a year is long enough for a streamer to rise and fall. Of course, I am not talking about you. But the streaming industry is that harsh."

"Hahaha, I understand that." Max laughed it off because that was true.

He was lucky in both unique skills and connections—that was why he rose so fast and is still rising. A regular streamer would have difficulty even breaking the 1000 viewers threshold. And even then, they could lose them all with just a tiny mistake.

"Please continue, Michael. How about the money?" He put his index and thumb together, smiling with an evil intent as he stared at his assistant.

Correction… There was nothing evil about money. And he only liked them because they would be useful if he needed them. There was nothing wrong with having too many.

Knowing Max's money-grubbing personality, Michael didn't change his expression and only heaved a sigh.

"To be honest, it's lacking." The assistant let out another sigh.

"The highest offer is a $20,000 signing bonus and 3% profit from the product sold from your link. From my estimation, you will probably only get around $9,000 a month after the signing. And that will decrease a lot if their product is not to your audience's liking."

"$20,000… Tell me, Michael. Is that high or low for a year-long sponsorship with a streamer who has an average of 10 to 15K viewers?"

"Too low." Michael answered without hesitation.

"Usually, a streamer of that caliber would be given a $30,000 signing bonus. But what's important here is the profit share. We're talking about pure profit and not sales. The lowest that streamers usually get is around 5 to 10% profit. That's the main target of the sponsorship contract.

"Besides… The clause in the contract has you to promote and use their product. There is nothing that says a separate pay for that, so you're essentially promoting their product to get the profit only. It's a scam contract. To think those companies dare to send this to you… It's embarrassing."

'To me?' Max caught a certain word and chuckled. 'So Flexy contracts have different content?'

"I remembered you said they also sent sponsorship offers to Flexy. Is it different?"

"Yes. I don't know the details, but the sponsorship offered to him is… rational. I mean, it is still within common sense and within an acceptable range."

As expected. Receiving a sponsorship contract offer as a newbie was indeed still strange. So they did change the contract slightly.

'The way sponsorships worked here is slightly different from my past life. The clause and benefit are also different. I am glad I have an assistant already now.'

"How about the other two?"

"… 2% and 1.5% for each product," Michael answered in a low voice.

That was worse than the first one.

Max had difficulty holding on to his poker face. His flying time was indeed not that high yet, but to think the companies would blatantly try to use him like this…

"Please refuse them."

They weren't sincere enough and looked down on him. He knew his value well. Even he could get offended.

'It's not like when I sign with Biozone Entertainment or join those programs. I got to spread my name using those programs. But this… It will only bring them profit. There is nothing to gain from them. They will only use my name to promote their product.'

"And if they try to increase the term, please tell them to forget it."

Hearing his answer, Michael finally smiled.

"I will do so," He said with a proud expression. "Then, how about ad offers? I found two that you might like."

"Oh?" Max raised his voice pleasantly. It seemed like this was the main topic for today. "What are they?"

"It's this." The assistant opened two screens filled with information about the ads. "Please choose them. Or if you'd like it, you can take both."

Max was curious and read them carefully. And when he finished, his lips curled up into an excited smile.

"Now, this is what I call being sincere. Please accept both of them and negotiate the schedule. As long as it's not around May 29th to 31st, I will be available."

"Very well. Please leave the negotiation to me. I will bring good news soon."

"I am counting on you, Michael. Thanks in advance."

"Hahaha, it's my job. Please don't worry about it."

Afterward, they talked about the ad and Max returned to his room to rest after having an early lunch. When he was inside, he called Flexy to ask about the sponsorship from the three companies he received because he was curious.

But… The answer he got from his friend wasn't something that he had expected.

"Well, they don't look fun, so I rejected them. I am glad I did because they seem like companies that use streamers as if they are tools! Hahaha, thank you, buddy. I will put them on my blacklist."

Instead of the fact that Flexy casually said he would blacklist the companies, Max focused on the other things he said.

'This fucking insane man rejected sponsorship offers because it wasn't fun?!'

Once again, common sense didn't seem to apply to Flexy.
