Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity

Chapter 77 Auction house

77  Auction house

We're doing the silent auction" Gunta said while leading them down the tens of auction booths. Until finally, they game upon one standing inconspicuously in the middle of the cautious House.

"He hasn't started?" Leon inquired. The man was just standing stacking some paper as If he couldn't see them.

"It has, it's a silent auction, just watch" gunta urged Leon to exercise patience….they were about 7 people standing before the man by this point and none of them were complaining, Leon didn't see the need to be the one to complain.

1 minute passed

2 minutes passed

5 minutes passed

And things had started to seem uneventful. That was until the 8th minute, as soon as the 8th minute passed, the auctioneer pulled out a box and placed it on the table.

"Hm?" This drew their attention. Following which he opened it revealing a blue flower surrounded by purple dust….it gave off a dreamy aura that drew in everyone who saw it.

—bang!!

Before Leon could place his hand on what exactly this flower was. The auctioneer closed the box suddenly and nodded.

"10,000 silver" a fairly old man with round glasses raised his hand and announced.

"Oh?" Leon looked over with a look of understanding. They couldn't let the herb appear for too long so as to avoid prying gazes, so he closed the book 5 seconds after revealing it.

Only those who could tell what it was in the first 5 seconds would understand its true value and bid for it. Of course, there were also several pitfalls for anyone bidding in this auction.

Misidentifying a particular herb or material would cost one a huge deal, especially when it came to herbs. Most of which looked very much alike. Imagine saving for months and getting the wrong herb or material?

Leon couldn't help but muse on a solution to getting the best herbs he could find…and just like that, an idea popped into his mind.

"Puuuu" After handing over the box to the old man, the auctioneer continued with his paper work, not minding the presence of the people in front of him.

He did this for about 15 minutes before once again….

He pulled out a and opened it up.....this time it was a pulsating mushroom with a black top.

"Treasure" Leon said in his mind and almost immediately his spiritual body was pulled into the pagoda in his head.

Twenty minutes in here was equivalent to 1 minute outside, so she had the equivalent of 1 minute 40 seconds in here to figure out what the mushroom outside was.

"Treasure, identify that mushroom"

Fortunately, he had the system. It was a treasure trove of knowledge, identifying a measly mushroom was child's play for it.

[Ding!!

Virgos black mushrooms. Usually found In packs, these types of mushroom can Mainly be found in the general area of seven blood wood oak trees in the west of Eldoria....the golden turtle back warlock clan is the main producer of these herbs.....

"Hmm" Leon analyzed the information and nodded his head. After which, he popped out of the pagoda and into reality.

"5,000 silver coins" Leon immediately announced as soon as he got out. This caused the people around to frown. The auctioneer hadn't even closed the box yet, and he was already bidding.

Was this person some sort of fool?

—bang

While they were distracted by Leon, the auctioneer closed the box and looked Leon in the eyes. He had placed his bid, if anyone could match it, now was the time.

However, none of them even bothered. They didn't know what was in the box and as such they wouldn't bid….nevertheless, they were pissed at Leon for missing the chance to properly examine the mushroom.

"Watch yourself, kid" one of the buyers causally remarked in Leon's direction.

"Hehe, bite me" Leon chuckled. Actually, they were kind of out of place here. Everyone here visibly has Ether in their eyes. They were all Warlocks.

Only Leon and Ariah didn't. Thankfully, for their faceless mask, if not it would be a problem.

"Winner, here" the auctioneer threw the mushrooms box at Leon and went back to his paper work.

As Leon grabbed it, he was about to open it, but Gunta swiftly swiped it from him and placed it in a duffle bag on his side.

It was against the rules to open the herbs in the shop. If not, the shop guards might just arrest you themselves.

While they were in a state of bewilderment, the auctioneer pulled out another box.

"Treasure" simultaneously, Leon entered the pagoda....

And so it continued, the auctioneer would pull out herbs and materials and Leon would use the system to identify and grade the herbs and materials. He wanted the best of the best materials for his attempt at breaking through. So he had to work hard to get them.

On random Intervals the auctioneer would place the boxs on his desk and each time Leon would hop into his mind scape and use the system to identify it and from there Leon was able to secure the best.

"Sigh" at some point, the auctioneer took in a large breath of air and looked over at the rest with pity.

Half of them were annoyed beyond reason. Leon's antics were just to tiring, however, unlike what they thought, he believed Leon knew exactly what he was doing.

Because from the beginning to right now, Leon had not picked a bad herb to bid on. He was very spot on.

"Sudden death" the auctioneer smiled after the last sale was made. He scanned through the crowd with a mischievous smile.

—bang

All of a sudden, 4 different boxes appeared in front of the booth, of which the auctioneer began opening them up one by open. In front of them were five items. A green herb shaped like a clock, a purple frog statue, a ordinary looking rock and a pair of dagger - shaped short swords.

Yes, they also sell weapons. There was only one naturally occurring disaster in the kingdom right now, and that was violence. Weapons made people feel safe. True businessmen knew to capitalize on this fear...

"For the short swords I'll bid 10,000" Leon raised his hand and placed his bid, but this action caused a slight chuckle to sound beside him.

The other bidders looked at Leon mockingly, this was probably his first experience bidding, he didn't know the sudden death rounds items were pegged around 50,000 silver coins.

If you couldn't afford those items, then you could only blame yourself.

" 50,000 for the short swords."

For the first time during this whole bedding process, someone was going to get some Leon wanted. It's a very happy occasion. No one wanted to see Leon gain the upper hand. n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

They had been bidding with him for a few hours now, and during that period a lot of people started to dislike him.

"55,000"

But even though they didn't like Leon, they definitely couldn't out bid him.

"Huh? He has money...." They thought Leon was just an obnoxious kid who liked causing trouble, they didn't think he had up to 50,000 silver coins on him.

"70,000"

"75,000"

"80,000"

"85....."

Leon entered a pricing war, with the person who wanted to buy the short swords. But, it didn't last long. As they hit the hundred thousand, Leon simply backed off.

"Shit!!" The guy looked vexed as he turned to look at Leon. "You're going to pay for that" as soon as he said that, he turned around and left with the short dagger.

Clearly, he had spent everything he had just now to feel good about himself. It wasn't until he realized that he had been screwed over that he came to his senses.

But now it was too late, all he could manage was gone.

The other bidders Continued with bidding, of which Leon strangely didn't coin in on.

He showed no interest in those items. As they didn't seem to have a trace of life-energy….

"Last items of the days, sudden death,"

Immediately, the room was bathed with a putrid smell that caused even Leon and Arian , who had masks on to wince. The smell was emitting from a wet wooden twing that seemed devoid of life.

But at the same time, the life energy it emitted was horrendous

[Ding, grade 2 item — red devilwood]

Leon didn't even look at the other items, his eyes were fully focused on the red devil wood.

Bidding starts at 100,000

The final round was for the true tycoons around….100,000 silver was a fortune, for this amount, a lot of people could be pulled out of abject poverty.

"I must get it!!"  Leon gritted his teeth and announced in his mind, but he wouldn't get it so easily...

"150,000 for the devil wood" from a booth not too far away a lady in an all white veil announced.

This person, Leon had met her before
