Sitting on the bed while blowing the cold air from the portable air conditioner, Yao Ran sent her consciousness into space and started working.

Since the process was simple, by the time Long Yu and Shi Xuan returned, she had filled over thirty plastic drums with her homemade disinfectant, totaling six thousand liters.

Hearing the sound of the approaching motorboat, Yao Ran retracted her consciousness from the space. She got out of the bamboo cot, walked to the window, and lifted the curtain.

Seeing that Long Yu and Shi Xuan had returned, she lowered the curtain and left her apartment.

When Long Yu and Shi Xuan arrived on the 19th floor, they took out the disinfectant they had brought with them and disinfected their bodies, backpacks, and weapons. Once finished, they went upstairs.

Back on the 20th floor, the two of them removed their protective clothing and disinfected themselves again before taking off their respiratory masks. Shi Xuan then opened the door of unit 2001, and they walked inside together.

When they saw that Yao Ran and the others were waiting for them in the living room, Long Yu hung his protective clothing and then sat beside Yao Ran.

Noticing that they were drenched in sweat, Yao Ran handed each of them a bottle of diluted lake water.

After drinking half a bottle, Long Yu looked at her and said, "Ran Ran, Ling Yi agreed to help us, but he wants medicine to treat the parasitic infections."

Yao Ran had already guessed that Ling Yi would ask for medicine.

With news of the parasitic infection spreading, the price of medicine was bound to soar. Given how scarce it already was, even if Ling Yi had ample supplies, obtaining medicine might still be very difficult.

"How much does he want?" Yao Ran asked.

Long Yu replied, "He wants two hundred doses."

When Huang Qian heard this, he rolled his eyes and said, "Why doesn't he just rob people directly?"

Shi Xuan sighed and shrugged, "I think he plans to keep the medicine for his own people. We went to the trading center on our way back and saw many people squeezing in to buy medicine, but the supplies were gone. As for the hospital, it's best not to go."

"Why?" Huang Zhihui asked curiously.

Shi Xuan looked at her and replied, "There is no medicine there, but people who are sick will go to the hospital."

"With so many people gathering in one place, parasitic infections can spread at an unimaginable speed. Moreover, we also heard that the patients there rioted, and some nurses and doctors died in the incident."

Long Yu nodded in agreement. Listening to what he said, everyone fell into silence.

After a moment of silence, Yao Ran said, "Since our goal is to save as many people as possible, I will give Ling Yi the two hundred doses of medicine."

Jia Xiang looked at her and tried to dissuade her, "Yao Ran, you should keep some medicine for yourself. We don't know when you might need it."

Yao Ran smiled, "Don't worry. When the temperature drops later, I can plant the medicinal herbs again."

Since she had her plan, Jia Xiang just nodded and said, "It's good as long as you still have some medicine on hand."

Long Yu looked at Yao Ran and said, "Ling Yi wants the medicine by tomorrow. Can you prepare it tonight?"

"No problem." She nodded, then looked at Shi Xuan and said, "Shi Xuan, can you deliver the medicine to Ling Yi tomorrow?"

Shi Xuan raised his eyebrows slightly and nodded, "Yes."

"Good. Then, I will go with Long Yu tomorrow to deliver the homemade disinfectant I prepared to Captain Wu. I hope the government can control the infection before it becomes uncontrollable." Yao Ran said with a hint of worry in her voice.

After discussing their plan for tomorrow for a while, Yao Ran returned home to prepare the medicine. When she was done, she looked at the floodwater outside and noticed it was evaporating faster that day.

The temperature kept rising and judging by how quickly the water level was dropping, the floodwaters should have receded within two days.

The next morning, Yao Ran woke up feeling dizzy and short of breath. Glancing at the thermometer on the wall, she was surprised to see that the temperature in her bedroom had reached 65 degrees Celsius.

Getting out of her bamboo cot, Yao Ran realized that even the constant-temperature clothing couldn't offer much relief in such high heat. Drenched in sweat, she quickly went to her space to take a bath and change clothes.

After the bath, her body temperature returned to normal. Concerned about the risk of heatstroke, she decided to prepare drinks and snacks to cool her body and increase her

appetite.

After watching a few tutorial videos she had downloaded before, Yao Ran chose to make mung bean soup, red bean soup, lemonade, homemade ice cream, and various fruit juices and

herbal tea.

She made large pots of each drink and soup and let them cool in the refrigerator. She also prepared several buckets of homemade ice cream and froze them in the villa's ice cellar.

After leaving the space and returning to her apartment, Yao Ran took out a small refrigerator, a small freezer, and a solar generator from her space. She carried them to the corridor, where the bright and intense sunlight shone through the large windows.

Yao Ran carried them to the end of the corridor and began to install the solar generator, refrigerator, and freezer. Once finished, Yao Ran connected the generator to the refrigerator and freezer and turned them on.

She observed them for a moment and returned to her apartment only when she saw they were functioning normally.

Closing the metal door, Yao Ran sent her consciousness to the space and packed the drinks, soups, and ice cream into disposable bottles, bowls, and cups. After packing, she took some of the items out and filled the refrigerator and freezer in the corridor.
