Chapter 2359: Divide
Chapter 2359: Divide
Within no time, Sam is in the room with the rest of the participants in the pocket dimension. Every candidate that is alive is there. He is standing on one side with his hands in his pocket along with Rashma and Crow on either side. While the remaining candidates are standing opposite to him, with Drik and Hari as their leaders.
This is the start of their negotiations.
"You know something like this would happen from the start, didn't you?" Drik asked, his tone dripping with venom. He wanted nothing more than to jab a dagger in Sam's eye. Particularly, that confident glint made him feel like a thousand leeches are sucking his blood at the same time.
"No point in discussing how we reached here. It is better to focus on how we move forward." "Alright, what is your price?" Hari asked, a tad bit impatient.
"You guys tell me. What is the price of your lives? I can assure you that there is no way out. The withdrawal mechanism of the pocket dimension is a bust. Now, you need to complete the task of pocket dimension before you can get out.
If you don't get out from here, I am also sure that you will die a very tragic death in here as the black skeletons hunt you down. One at a time.
So, you decide on a price of your own life and we can move forward with the arrangement."
"No, no, no. This is not happening. We are not getting dragged into this. You are going to name the price and we will negotiate from there. We will agree on a fair price that will be beneficial to both of us." Drik is adamant about not letting Sam have his own way.
He knew that if negotiation starts as Sam just mentioned now, the price will be through the roof. It would most likely be something that they cannot afford.
"Alright. Then I want to talk to you guys individually." Sam suggested.
And that is rejected.
"Not a chance. Everything has to happen right here, right now. Utmost transparency." "Okay then. I want to offer each of you a different deal, considering different circumstances. But I think I can manage it even from here, out in the open.
What I want is that for my hard work in attempting to let you get out of this pocketn/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
dimension, I need to be compensated with one-third of the private assets that you hold. They could be mines, territories, resources, even if you have a slab of meat in your storage, I need to be compensated with that.
And I need you to sign a soul contract saying that you will do so.
The plan I am going to propose is going to be risky, so some of you might die in process. But my effort will still be expended, so I need a contingency.
So, we are going to include a clause. In case of your untimely death, I shall become the inheritor of one-third of your assets, as well as the assets that your family is supposed to give you. Which means, apart from the right into inherit the position in your family, any other material asset will be mine.
In a way, this will be your will.
And all the elders and the deans that are watching this as it plays out will be the witnesses. So, in case I don't get what I deserve after you guys die, then I have the right to seek the Deans to serve me justice.
That is my offer. Take it or leave it."
"YOU FUCKING..."
Drik finally lost it and he lunged at Sam. He was instantly followed by a bunch of his lackeys. Rashma made a move and sent a kick to Dirk.
He flew like a arrow and hit the people that are behind him. She then proceeded to break some bones of other aggressors.
Immediately, the situation calmed down. As if she was doing some magic.
Sam looked at them and said.
"See, this impulse just cost you a great deal. Everyone, I am increasing the price. Apart from the current conditions I mentioned, I want each one of you to owe me a very personal favor. Equivalent to risking your life to save mine.
As for the ones who actually made the attempt, they are going to owe three such favors." "You want us to be on your fucking goons? Do you think we will take it? Do you think we will take it lying down, no matter what you say?"
"You have no other choice.
I am confident because, none of you idiots understand how these skeletons work and even if you did, you won't be able to do shit with your current strategies. So, I have an absolute upper hand. And I am not an idiot like you, to not take advantage of the upper hand that I have.
So, once again. Take it or leave it."
The negotiations went for an hour. And one might think that they actually made some progress in that time. But no, Sam didn't budge. He neither gave them more favorable terms, not even a guarantee that they will live.
He also didn't give them a discount on the price.
They had to either sign it or just stay back.
Drik along with his lackeys broke the negotiations after that one hour.
Hari and his team are very cooperative. Drik even told Sam and Hari to fuck off along with their people.
However, there was slight mishap even in that. Hari's team didn't come completely. It broken down and only around ten people came along with Hari.
They all agreed to pay Sam what he wanted.
"Pleasure doing business with you."
Sam said as they signed contracts in one of the zones that he created to conceal themselves.
"So, how are we going to do this Sam. For the steep price, you better have a proper plan to move forward."
"Of course, I do have something like that.
Sam then wrote down a list. It is the list of creatures that are present in the pocket dimension. One of each kind is mentioned in the list.
"These are all types of undead creatures that are in the pocket dimension. Each type has dozens of creatures roaming around. And at least one creature in each type has my trinket
attached.
So, this allows us to track them all easily.
With this, we will track down the skeletal creatures that just turned into their black skeletal form. We will then isolate them and go with full force to attack them and destroy them."
"But it is of no use. With every attempt, it just becomes stronger. It will just be a waste of time
and energy."
"No, the only way it becomes a waste of time is if we don't spend enough of them on a skeleton. I am sure, I can prove my theory with my first attempt."
"Alright. Do we need to prepare much?"
"Not really. This pocket dimension, with all the problems that it threw at us, is more suitable to test the strength, endurance and will power more than the preparation.
Just so you know, don't try to conserve your strength at all. I am not saying you should use your trump cards, but don't hold back too much. You must have felt a lot of frustration because of these skeletons, just take it out on them one by one.
But following my instructions takes utmost priority."
Sam said that and marked their first target.
It is the giant skeleton. The one that just turned into a black skeleton. Sam didn't use spatial transference to move all of them. Instead, he took them through the safest path he could find. The moment they are within a certain range of the black skeleton, it spotted Rashma and
charged towards her.
She is the one with highest number of kills.
Rashma didn't mind the charge. She welcomed it with open hands and slammed the skeleton
to the ground in one punch.
Sam conjured a spear of lightning along with a bit of void style before he threw it into the skeleton. His shadow undead appeared in the surroundings and held the other skeletons
down. Half of Hari's team was also on that job.
Since Sam told them to break the skeletons down without holding back, they just let themselves go and beat the crap out of them.
Meanwhile, the rest of them broke the skeleton down to pieces in an instant.
They stepped back and let it recover as per Sam's instructions. Once it came back to its original
shape, Rashma once again led the attack. The black skeleton is strong and if it was fighting
any of them, they wouldn't have been able to hold it back.
But its unwavering focus on Rashma made it an open target that allowed them a lot of
breathing space.
So, the battering of the Black skeleton continued on.
