Hugo and Jessica approached the house, their footsteps echoing faintly on the quiet street.

Standing there, with her sleek hair tied back and her yoga toned body casually draped in an oversized hoodie, was Luna.

Her eyes landed on him, and for a split second, her mouth twitched in surprise. Her beautiful eyes widened for a split moment.

Then, like the pro she was, she quickly masked her reaction with a calm, almost amused expression.

Summoning every ounce of fake confidence, Hugo straightened his back, puffed out his chest, and locked eyes with Luna.

The apartment was simple but cosy—a snug living room with a comfy couch, a coffee table littered with magazines, and soft fairy lights strung along the walls.

It smelled faintly of lavender and something sweet, like freshly baked cookies.

Jessica dropped her jacket onto the couch and introduced them. "Luna, this is Hugo. Hugo, Luna's my roommate."

Hugo and Luna exchanged polite nods, pretending they had never seen each other before.

His hands found her waist, pulling her closer as their breaths mingled.
