Chapter 191 Self-Verdict, Top 50 Warlord Event
Chapter 191 Self-Verdict, Top 50 Warlord Event
After Aleron sent Elysia's soul to Hell for punishment, with the verdict being 92 years of punishment. However, due to the temporal shift in Hell, the time that passed in reality would be around a year.
After he was done with her, he went to Hua and Darzax who were in their soul forms. Those two were hanging out around the necropolis and other islands, using their soul energy since they were fully recovered.
Aleron met with them and talked for a couple of minutes before he and Darzax arrived at the necropolis.
Aleron gathered all undead, the native residents of the necropolis by teleporting them.
The people looked happy and greeted Aleron and Darzax in their cheerful ways. Their new lives are better than ever, with all collectively living leisurely and busy lives.
But they don't know their previous lives.
Aleron nodded at Darzax, 'Dax, it's time. I know you did it for me, but we have to do this.'
Darzax smiled, his soul avatar looking exactly like his real self, though appearing ethereal with faintness to it. 'My lord, I have once been a kind man who lost his all. From then on, I stopped at nothing to take my revenge and didn't consider other people's lives important.'
'For you, I will still take any measures even if they break your ideals, but I still will follow your ideals because they remind me of my past life and my wife. I shall take punishment numerous times for you.'
'Born in the grave, I would only end my life for you, my lord.'
Darzax then unleashed a skill, unsealing all memories from the undead of the necropolis. Aleron felt something strange as he heard Dax, new thoughts stirring his mind. 'He would break my ideals…for me? If that's the case, then I have to make sure the errors he makes for me are solved in my ideal world.'
'Just like I am doing right now,' Aleron looked at the people of Necropolis who had turned silent and blank as their memories were unsealing to them, remembering their past lives.
Aleron and Darzax patiently waited as the undead regained their memories.
After several seconds, Aleron spoke to them and laid bare his thoughts about how he wanted them to make the judgment.
The reason he asked was to let them run their minds while he read their minds to know their thoughts.
All undead of the necropolis had no complaints, resentments, or regret of what happened to them. They expressed that they were far happier than their previous lives, and their families were also with them.
Darzax had also only sacrificed nobles' souls who were in the royal chamber at that time, so the plus point was that those he had truly killed were evil and deserved in the first place.
None of them wanted Darzax or Aleron to get punished. They know their Absolute Justice system and hell. They were with him from the start, so they knew. But they didn't want Darzax or Aleron to get punished.
Aleron and Darzax left after that, and Aleron sent them back to their previous locations to resume their lives, but it was not over.
"Dax, I know they don't want to get us punished, but we have to get punished."
As if Darzax already knew, he merely chuckled and nodded, "I'm aware, my lord. So, what is my verdict?"
"Our verdict," Aleron grinned. "You did it for me, so I shall bear it as well."
"Although none of the innocents truly died and just turned undead, the turmoil and pain they felt during transformation were no small, as it also applied to kids and babies who turned undead."
Darzax sighed and nodded. Even though it was short, they still suffered. "You removed their memories so they would also forget this pain, but they regained it and still forgave us."
"But we shall not forget ourselves, so our verdict is nine months for the pain they suffered."
Darzax smiled, "Then let us get the taste of your hell, my lord."
"That's going to be painful," Aleron laughed.
…
Aleron and Darzax went to the section of hell designed for their punishment.
It was getting flayed by 7 layers of flaggers on their souls for 10 minutes straight before getting 1 minute of rest. The punishment was cruel as after getting constant pain for 10 minutes, they get 1 minute of rest, which would make them forget the pain.
And then getting flagged by the thick belts would make the pain even more terrible.
'Damn, I really designed some good punishments,' Aleron wryly smiled.
Darzax couldn't help but laugh while making an expression as if slightly crying. 'Well, this will take some time to get used to.' n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
…
9 months would roughly equal to close to three days in reality. Aleron would make it by the time his Warlord-only event began.
While Aleron and Darzax were in hell, the progress outside didn't stop.
The Subordinate-only event that started after two days arrived as usual. Aleron took a break from Hell because he had to send them to the event venue. After he sent them to the Event, he went back to hell, not intending to watch them.
…
The Event was Ruler of the Hill—in this, only three subordinates of each Warlord could participate.
Since Aleron's rank reached 23rd, this new event replaced the old. The participant pool was smaller and higher ranked than before—top 50 Warlords.
In this event, the subordinates of Warlords would fight each other to take control of the "Hill".
In a huge dimension filled with dangers and disasters, a big pillar of light would spring up in the sky from a random location on the map.
The aim of each group is to reach the hill's peak, a 100-meter ring would manifest and each must stay within the ring while not letting other groups enter the ring. Staying within the ring would grant points to the groups.
Every 10 minutes, the Hill would vanish and appear at another random location.
Dying during this event would make them respawn furthest from the current Hill instead of killing them and this competition would run for 2 hours.
The group with the highest points at the end would be considered the winner, but the real dread lay at the end.
The total ranking would be 1st to 25th as 25 groups would participate, but only 10 groups would be considered winners.
After the evaluation, the remaining 15 groups would fight in an all-out battle until five people among those 45 people were dead.
This was the cosmos will's way of inflicting loss that was prevented during the Event where participants would respawn instead of dying because this was a race, a competition where only the strong mattered and won for the ascension to the higher cosmos.
From Aleron's side, the three who entered the event were Enorin, Yueha, and Mei, a group with established synergy.
The spectators were the top 50 Warlords and all of them were aware of the Graystar's death and destruction of the Top 100 Warlords' Alliance by now. As a Warlord of 23rd rank, Graystar was known among the top 100 Warlords and Davin's alliance was also well-known as it was gradually expanding. The recent gatherings during the spectate realm's meeting where the Warlord's avatars gathered and talked about the emissaries from higher cosmos, with all of them sharing the same desires to ascend made them sort of allies.
As such, the death of so many top 100 Warlords and Graystar was a lot of shock to them.
All of them were eager to see this new Warlord.
"Where is he?"
"The event has started, but he isn't here to watch his subordinates?"
"Humph, not appearing here just shows his arrogance."
"He might be busy, who knows?"
"Well, let's see how this new Warlord's subordinates perform since they are here."
The top Warlords were not alone as they had also bought emissaries' avatars with them to watch.
Their aim was actually to meet the new Walord who wiped out so many Warlords and jumped to 14th rank after destroying Graystar and Davin's alliance.
"His subordinates…"
The emissaries at the table of the 1st ranked Warlord narrowed their eyes in interest as they watched Aleron's subordinates clashing with others at the hill.
"What are those powers? Her weapon changed form like that?" the 1st ranked Warlord frowned as he saw his subordinate getting killed by Mei's Pyroshade Ecliptic Cannon.
"Her Concept is weird. It's not a concept that someone would naturally awaken," the blond-haired woman, Klixia, said with a flicker of surprise, "I would believe it's natural if she was the only one, but the other two also have strange concepts."
"True. That assassin girl's Concept makes her attack impossible to see and feel unless one opens a solid radar able to detect Conceptual powers."
"Moreover, her attacks are coming out of random shadows that the Angel warrior had created. That strange prism light array has a tricky conceptual power as well."
Mei's concept—Eclipse Fury, indeed rendered disabilities to the targets while making herself completely eclipsed from the battlefield. It was very hard to detect her and dodge her attack.
Enorin's concept just fueled her power more.
Meanwhile, Yueha was a battle mage who froze and caused blizzards.
At first, the trio was ignored because each of them had only one Concept while all subordinates of the top 20 had one person in the group who had two concepts, with one or two of them being at the median grade of Ascension rank.
Having participated in events for a long, they were obviously given resources to upgrade to keep up with the competition of others.
However, it turned out that the new trio appeared in their early-stage Ascension rank but had higher stats along with tricky powers and items that brought troubles.
All spectating Warlords were slackjawed as the first Hill was dominated by the new trio.
But from the 2nd hill onward, they were targetted by the big players as none of them dared to underestimate them.
