Chapter 111 Next Stage
While playing Fallen Fate Online and for all his travels, Zayne managed to accumulate 12,060 Gold Coins. Before Zayne started playing, he could only earn that amount in a year and a half without spending anything, so now Zayne could afford very expensive things.
Crackle.
A girl in an eastern outfit entered the room and handed Zayne a long sword with an incredibly sharp blade and glowing ancient runes.
"Please. Will you pay for the lot now or later?" The girl leaned over, stretching her arms forward with a pleasant smile, "Zayne Fellen... I am honored to pass you this sword. I hope this weapon will help you slay many more Chaos followers."
Zayne's gaze turned serious, Cyrus's words teaching him how important to the people of this world was what he did.
"Sure. I will try to find a worthy use for this sword. After all, it is worth like a real treasure." Zayne picked up the Thunder Hunter, and his ring sparkled. In his hand appeared a pouch with six Platinum Coins, which he handed to the girl.
"Thank you. I wish you good luck." The girl nodded and hurried out of the room.
Zayne stared at his sword and muttered, "Well, now this is my new weapon..."
Whooooooooooosh.
Zayne moved the sword into the ring with a complicated expression.
"How does it feel?" Alden asked as a sly smile appeared on his face.
"What exactly are you asking about?" Zayne muttered.
"About the auction and the fact that you spent a huge amount of money on one item. Honestly, I didn't expect you to do something like that... Even for me, it would have been pretty wasteful." Alden said quietly, looking at Zayne's ring, as if trying to see through it, the sword.
Zayne took a deep breath, "Well, I didn't think that would happen myself. I hope this sword will be a worthy partner for me."
"What are you going to do now?" Alden asked as the corners of his mouth went up, forming a sly smirk, "I mean globally. As far as I know, the Goren Family still wants revenge on you."
Zayne stretched his neck, "Well... I'm not sure, but I definitely need to rest...and check something out. Do you have some suggestions for me?"
Alden shook his head, "No, you're free to do whatever you want, but never forget that you can go back to Red Feather City and visit the Redfall Family at any time."
"I'm going to go rest." Zayne sighed as he headed for the exit.
Alden was about to help Zayne get to the manor, but seeing his deep gaze, he decided to stop and just looked at the already empty scene.
'Hmm... I wonder if I should somehow escalate the conflict between Zayne and the Goren Family, or should I just wait?' Alden inwardly muttered with a thoughtful expression.
...
Toward the end of the auction, it was already deep into the night, so much of the town was asleep and preparing for the next day. Zayne, too, was tired, some thoughts were bothering him, and he had to test his theory.
Under the cover of darkness, Zayne made his way outside the city, to the hill, which was already a familiar place to him.
Zayne had many options, but he chose the easiest as he stood in front of the tree and took a deep breath.
"Given my stats, my punch should be several times stronger than the average person's now, shouldn't it?" Zayne muttered with slight excitement, then he clenched his hand into a fist.
Crackle.
With all his might, Zayne struck the tree with a sharp, cold stare. With a loud crack, splinters flew aside, flying past his face as the shock wave caused the entire tree to shake, causing several leaves to tear from the branches.
Zayne looked at his fist, then shifted his gaze to the bare trunk of the tree as it completely destroyed the bark at one spot.
"It hurts... but how exciting..." Zayne muttered quietly, but he couldn't contain his mad grin.
Zayne quickly stepped out as his silhouette transformed into a white flash that headed toward the sky like a star.
Crackle.
The lid of the capsule opened as Zayne quickly headed for the exit. A few minutes later he was in the middle of the park, stepping into the dark part and taking a deep breath, filling his lungs.
'If I'm wrong I'm just hurting myself, but if I'm not... Fuck... This can't be happening, right? What am I even doing?' Zayne muttered inwardly, shook his head, and looked up at the blue moon.
His azure eyes filled with soft light, then he took a step forward, bringing his fist down on the tree.
Crackle. Crackle. Crackle.
Blood gushed from his fist because of the wounds it had opened, but Zayne paid it no attention at all, as well as the pain. His eyes were wide open as he saw before him what he had seen in Fallen Fate Online. It was the real world, but his punch was just as powerful, and it sent a chill down his back, sending shivers down his spine.
Zayne touched the impact site and muttered, "That... I did that, didn't I?"
Drip. Drip. Drip.
At the same moment, cold drops fell on Zayne's shoulders from the rain that had begun abruptly. Zayne was completely soaked, but he didn't move and stared at the same point as if frozen.
His mind raced with all the strange things that had happened to him since he started playing Fallen Fate Online, and it all led him to one single conclusion.
Tremble.
Thunderclaps drowned out all sound as dozens of white lightning bolts struck the skyscrapers in the distance. These fierce lightning bolts forced Zayne out of his thoughts as his gaze changed completely, and a wide grin appeared on his face.
"Ahahahahahaha! This is fucking unbelievable! What could be better?!" Zayne laughed with his arms spread out, taking in the massive raindrops.
